SUBJECT: ALABAMA POWER COMPANY RENEWS INTERST
IN TUSKEGEE BASED ORGANIZATIONS
DATE: February 7, 2024

On Wednesday, February 7, Alabama Power Communications Manager, Rod Cater, came to Tuskegee to visit the office of the Headquarters of The World Conference of Mayors, Inc., (WCM), and the Historic Black Towns And Settlements Alliance, Inc., (HBTSA). He came to deliver a $2,500.00 grant to Johnny Ford, Founder of The WCM and the HBTSA, to support the work of both of these organizations. Ford invited representatives of several local non-profit organizations, to join him in greeting Mr. Cater, each, for the purpose of introducing the work of their organization to him, and to learn how that work might make it eligible to secure grant support from the Alabama Power Company. As Founder of The WCM and the HBTSA, and now, as Tuskegee City Councilman, Ford hopes to reestablish a long held, positive, relationship with the Alabama Power Company, that he enjoyed during his several administrations as Tuskegee Mayor, and during the early days of the WCM. He wants to bring that relationship to fruition again, not only for the citizens of all of the Alabama towns and cities of the WCM and the HBTSA, but especially for the citizens of historic Tuskegee, AL.
